J. Lorne Braithwaite
J. Lorne Braithwaite joined the QuadReal Property Group Board of Directors in December 2016.
Lorne was the founding CEO of Cambridge Shopping Centres, now Ivanhoé Cambridge. He joins QuadReal’s Board after serving as Chairman, President and CEO of Cambridge before the sale of the company in 2002. He is the Chairman of the Canada Post Pension Plan’s Investment Advisory Committee and a Special Advisor for Majid Al Futtaim Retail, the leading shopping mall, retail and leisure company in the Middle East and North Africa. Lorne also served as President and CEO of Build Toronto Inc., an independent real estate and development corporation established to generate value from underutilized real estate assets throughout the City of Toronto.
Lorne holds a B.Comm. from the University of Alberta and an M.B.A. from the Richard Ivey School of Business. He is a Director of the Business Advisory Council at the University of Alberta School of Business and past Chairman of the Hospital for Sick Children Real Estate Division Capital Campaign. He previously served on the Board of Directors for Enbridge and OMERS Realty Corporation. In 2005, Lorne was a NAIOP Award for Real Estate Excellence Lifetime Achievement Honouree, and is a member of the Alberta Hockey Hall of Fame. He was also a World-Wide Chairman of the International Council of Shopping Centres.
