VMF Winter Arts set to transform downtown Vancouver into an interactive outdoor art gallery
QuadReal is proud to be a part of the second annual 2022 VMF Winter Arts
From February 11 to 27, Downtown Vancouver will be transformed into an interactive, open-air gallery and celebration of the arts featuring augmented reality. Produced by the team behind Vancouver Mural Festival, the annual event is designed to inspire joy and creativity, connect communities, and support local businesses and artists while creating safe, welcoming outdoor spaces for all.
Park Place (666 Burrard Street) will be one of the multiple locations hosting free public art and entertainment along the VMF Winter Arts route. At the center of it all will be the Winter Arts Hub, located at šxʷƛ ̓ənəq Xwtl’e7énḵ Square on the northside of the Vancouver Art Gallery. The Winter Arts Hub will be a central outdoor space for all to safely gather to enjoy food, drinks, art and free live performances.
At QuadReal, we are committed to supporting the communities where we live, work and play. We are delighted to partner with VMF this year in support of activating Vancouver’s downtown community through the work of local artists and businesses.
Last year, QuadReal worked with the VMF team to support the Blanketing the City art mural series by xwməθkwəy̓ əm (Musqueam) weaver and graphic designer Debra Sparrow. Blanketing the City will continue during VMF Winter Arts, lighting up iconic landmarks like BC Place with beautiful Musqueam weaving patterns, colours and stories.
