A decade of change. One constant: an organization built to adapt.
The past decade has brought unprecedented change around the world. Markets have shifted. A global pandemic changed how people lived and worked. Technology continues to disrupt how businesses operate, and today’s economic environment brings ongoing uncertainty.
Through it all, one thing has remained constant: adaptability isn’t something QuadReal developed over time. It’s part of who the organization has always been, enabling it to turn a decade of disruption into a decade of growth while continuing to deliver for the clients, tenants, and residents it serves.
Grounded, not rigid
When QuadReal was established in 2016, the ambition was clear: build an integrated platform capable of investing, developing, and operating with a long-term view. Teams have always worked cross-functionally and across the business, guided by discipline rather than short-term market cycles.
Those foundations have held as QuadReal has expanded into new markets and sectors.
Bobby Chow, Director of Corporate Systems, has seen that approach in action. “The world has thrown a lot at us over the past 10 years, and we’ve had to realign our strategy, our priorities, and the way that we work,” he says. “What I’ve seen is a company that plans carefully but moves quickly. That’s one of our biggest strengths.”
Long-term thinking. Fast execution. That combination is what has let QuadReal pivot without losing sight of what matters most.
Adaptable by design
Resiliency is woven into how people approach challenges, support one another, and stay open to new ideas.
Anthony Lanni, Executive Vice President of Residential, believes that mindset has been central to the company’s growth. “Through it all, QuadReal has remained resilient, and we’ve been able to seize opportunities wherever they are around the world,” he says. “That’s not by accident, that’s by design.”
Ten years of change, each one an opportunity to strengthen capabilities, invest in people, and serve clients, tenants, and residents better than the year before.
Preparing for what’s next
The future will bring different opportunities and different challenges. New technologies will transform the industry, customer expectations will keep evolving, and new ideas will shape how real estate is invested in, developed, and operated.
For Wesley Tong, Senior Vice President of Finance, resilience comes through in how people respond when those moments arrive. “What I find myself most proud of isn’t just that we got through those challenges,” he says. “It’s how we got through them. The quality of the work, the rigour that the team brings, the way we show up for our stakeholders. That’s something I feel really good about.”
Remco Daal, Chief Operating Officer, believes the next 10 years will demand the same resiliency that defined the first: “We’re at an unprecedented time of innovation and change in our business. How it impacts us, nobody knows. But I know that we’re the kind of organization that can adapt.”
Ten years in, that’s still the point. Not that QuadReal survives change. That it’s built for it.
